Size G Hook

Worsted weight yarn in red and black

Tapestry needle


Piece should be crocheted in a continuous round (in a spiral)


Poppy Petals (in red):

Chain 3, slip stitch in 1st ch to form ring

8 sc through center of the ring (8)

Row 1: 2sc, sc around (12)

Row 2: 2sc, sc, sc around (16)

Row 3: (sc, ch1, sc) in the same stitch, sc 3 times around (24)

Row 4: sl st, sl st through ch 1 space, skip 2 st and tc 5 times in the same stitch. (St slt in Ch 1 space, skip 2 st and tc 5 times in same stitch) around. Sl st to join (24)

    Cut yarn and weave in end with a tapestry needle


Poppy Center (in black):

Chain 3, slip stitch in 1st ch to form ring (or use Magic Ring if you prefer)

4 sc through center of the ring (4)

Row 1: 2sc around (8)

    Cut yarn and leave a tail, Using a tapestry needle, sew black circle to the center of the poppy petals.


Add a pin to the back, and wear your poppy proudly!
